Job Description
As a mid-level Finance Business Partner, you will operate with limited supervision, own end-to-end FP&A workflows for one business area, and partner directly with department leads. You will translate operational drivers into financial forecasts, lead the monthly close commentary for your area, and mentor Level I staff on standard processes.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly forecast, quarterly re-forecast, and budget-vs-actual analysis for an assigned business unit or cost center.
- Build and maintain three-statement models, driver-based forecasts, and scenario / sensitivity analyses to support business decisions.
- Lead month-end close commentary: variance analysis, narrative write-ups, and presentation of results to functional leaders.
- Partner with department managers to refine financial assumptions (headcount plans, vendor contracts, growth drivers).
- Develop and improve recurring management dashboards in Tableau / Power BI; write SQL queries against the data warehouse for ad-hoc analysis.
- Review and approve standard journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Level I team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, working capital, or unit economics in the assigned area.
- Mentor Level I Finance Business Partners on modeling techniques, reporting standards, and stakeholder communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or audit / advisory.
- Strong Excel modeling skills, including driver-based forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Working proficiency with SQL and at least one BI tool (Tableau or Power BI).
- Experience working in an ERP environment (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or comparable).
- Proven ability to operate with limited supervision and meet recurring reporting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate with team members in a remote work environment.
Preferred Skills
- Progress toward CPA, CFA, or an MBA.
- Written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin.
- Experience in a high-growth technology, marketplace, or services business.
- Exposure to Python or scripting for finance automation.
Additional Information
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
- Flexible working hours and a fully remote work environment.
- A collaborative and innovative team culture.
