Southern Methodist University (SMU) STEM OPT Fee Information
Southern Methodist University (in Dallas, Texas) charges an OPT SEVIS Maintenance Fee through its International Office (formerly ISSS) for the STEM OPT extension, on top of the USCIS filing fee. When the Fee Is Charged
The payment receipt is one of the application documents: the checklist lists it among the required documents ("Receipt of OPT SEVIS Maintenance Fee Payment ($204 fee)"). So pay at the IO e-Store and keep the receipt first, then submit the STEM OPT I-20 request, and after that file the I-765 with USCIS.
Notes
- This fee is paid to the school. It is separate from the USCIS I-765 filing fee, and you pay both.
